Hi again!
Breakfast Television was fun this morning, although I am beyond tired now! I did makeup and hair for the Lotus Leaf fashion segment this morning. All being well I should have the video uploaded here next week! You can check out Lotus Leaf's website here
The looks for the show were really natural with a focus on even skin, curled and seperated natural looking lashes, fresh winter cheeks and glistening lips. My fav products to achieve the looks were M.A.C. Mineralize Skin Powders which provide a sheer to medium coverage on the skin and have a softer look than most powders. They are great to use in winter because most people have drier skin at this time of year, and when powder goes on it shows the dry texture. Not with Mineralize, which has a lovely, soft appearance. For the cheeks I loved using Fabulush Cream Colour Base by M.A.C on everyone cheeks, with a little bit of M.A.C. Melba blush on top. To get the most natural looking lashes I used Great Lash Mascara (every makeup artist has got this in their kit!), but applied it in a new way. First I curled the lashes, then I wiped mascara from the Great Lash container on to a metal spatula, using a brow and lash comb I dipped into the mascara and combed upwards on the lashes. This is a great technique not only for the sanitary importance, but because you get less chunks in your mascara and it really elongates the lashes. On the lips I used Diane Brill Lip Liner in Demi Cup. If you haven't tried Diane Brill products, you really should. She is such a treat! All of her products are designed after lingerie, so they always have sexy packaging and clever, sultry names. I then blended colours from my Ben Nye Lip Gloss wheel. This is the only lip gloss I find suitable for High Defintion makeup. Other glosses reflect too much light, but this light weight gloss has just the right amount of shine!
I also went to Allyson MItchell's opening tonight for her travelling show Ladies Sasquatch at McMaster in Hamilton. I had helped with this beautiful, amazing, larger than life show over the past month creating hair styles for the feminist sasquatches. There's a great interview with Allyson about the show on the Canadian Art website:

If you are in the Hamilton area I really suggest you go to see the show. The creatures are intimidating in stature, but really individually they are interesting and relatable creatures.
More to come! I'm on a music video this weekend (and there are going to be surprise celebs involved! Ooh lala!) and a photo shoot. Check back for more hot tips, fav products and new images!
Enjoy your weekend!!!
